A night-time Silver Age local pick up!

It's Sunday night, 7pm. It's raining, because... We'll, it's Britain, so that's a given. It's dark, because... I mean it's night time? This story isn't off to a good start is it? Stating the obvious, blah blah blah. Maybe this time, we'll focus on the unexpected. And this tale? This tale has a lot of the unexpected.

The first unexpected aspect of this little rendezvous, was the fact that our new friend that called, was local. To many people, this may not be that odd, but we live in a very small town in the middle of nowhere, where everyone knows everyone else.

The next unexpected detail, was that our new friend wanted us there that evening. 7pm on a Sunday? By Lord man, did you not know that this day was designated the day of rest, by none other than the big invisible fella in the sky? Well. No rest for the wicked, I guess!

After a short five minute drive, we were greeted by rather large dog named... And I kid you not, 'Tiny'. Tiny, was some sort of mongrel mix, that had resulted in a dog the size of a damn pony. Tiny, was also the highlight of my journey, being friendlier than a car salesman with a new client. Unfortunately, Tiny also didn't appear to know that he wasn't a lapdog. For a while, after sitting down to discuss details with our new friend, I found myself rather short of breath.

Next, we were taken to the loft. [insert that noise where you get a legendary loot drop, or some cool stuff in a game]. Stacks, and stacks, of shortboxes, piled one atop the other. Each, meticulously labelled with their contents.

At this stage, as you can imagine, we're pretty excited, so we hammer out the details and start loading up the car. Keep in mind, this was a BLIND sale. Sure I'd peeked in a few boxes, and seen a few bronze age issues, but nothing prepared me for what I would find when I got home.

Spiderman. Spiderman, spiderman, and more spiderman. I'm talking silver age 1960s from issue 4 onward, in a straight CONSECUTIVE run all the way up to #600. Complete run of Web of spiderman vol.1, spectacular spiderman vol.1, and every other 70s and 80s spiderman run in existence. Jackpot.
