What we buy

Reserved List, Power Nine, dual lands — and everything in between

From a single Beta Underground Sea to a 30-year Commander collection, we buy Magic: The Gathering across every format, every era and every print run. Below is the kind of MTG we're actively quoting on right now — if your collection is mixed, send the lot in one go and we'll value it together.

Reserved List & vintage rares

Original dual lands, Mox jewels, Lotus, Time Walk, Ancestral Recall, original fetches (Mirage), Tabernacle, Bazaar of Baghdad, The Abyss, Imperial Seal — the cards that anchor every serious Vintage and Legacy collection.

Power Nine

Black Lotus, Mox Pearl/Sapphire/Jet/Ruby/Emerald, Time Walk, Ancestral Recall, Timetwister. Beta and Unlimited copies in any grade welcome — raw or BGS/PSA/CGC slabbed.

Beta, Alpha, Unlimited & Revised

The vintage core. Even commons and uncommons from these sets carry meaningful value in playable condition, and we quote on single rares as readily as on full vintage collections.

Fetchlands & shocklands

Onslaught fetches, Zendikar/Khans expedition fetches, Modern Horizons reprints, Ravnica shocks — competitive Modern, Pioneer and Commander mana bases are always in demand.

Commander / EDH staples

Mana Crypt, Mana Vault, Jeweled Lotus, The One Ring, Sol Ring (foils + originals), Cyclonic Rift, Rhystic Study, Smothering Tithe, Mana Drain, original Allied Strongholds and Sliver Queen.

Modern, Legacy & Pioneer chase cards

Modern Horizons mythics (Ragavan, The One Ring, Orcish Bowmasters, Force of Negation), Wrenn and Six, Liliana of the Veil, Karn Liberated, Tarmogoyf in high grade, Stoneforge Mystic.

Sealed product

Booster boxes, collector boosters, set boosters, draft boosters, bundle boxes, Commander precons, Secret Lairs and pre-release kits. Modern Horizons 2/3, Lord of the Rings, Double Masters, Commander Legends and original Modern/Eternal Masters carry the strongest premium.

Foils, judge promos & promotional cards

Foil Reserved List, judge promos (Vampiric Tutor, Mana Crypt, Wasteland), DCI promos, FNM Foils, World Championship decks, Arena/Magic Premiere Shop promos, original-printing planeswalker promos.

Graded MTG slabs (BGS, PSA, CGC)

High-grade vintage and modern slabs welcome. We pay competitively on Alpha/Beta/Unlimited rares, Modern Horizons mythics and tournament-legal art-card grades.

Bulk + collections

Loose collections, deck boxes, binders, long-box accumulations from the loft — if there's value in there we'll find it. Bulk commons/uncommons are accepted as a free add-on when bundled with a valuable singles or sealed purchase.

We also buy comic books, Pokémon cards, and Funko Pops — so if your collection is mixed, send it all and we'll value the lot in one quote.

How we value Magic cards

Honest valuations, benchmarked against live market data

Every Magic card we quote on is benchmarked against three live data points: TCGplayer Market (the global price floor for high-volume singles), Cardmarket Trend (the European baseline that matters for UK sellers), and recent eBay UK sold listings (the price collectors actually paid in the last 30 days). For Reserved List and vintage cards we cross-check against the most recent PWCC, Goldin and ACE auction results too.

We then adjust for condition. A NM Beta dual is worth dramatically more than a HP one, and we'll tell you which bracket your card sits in honestly — even if that means a softer offer. We'd rather lose a deal than misrepresent a grade and have you find out later. For raw vintage rares we'll suggest grading where it would meaningfully lift the payout, and we'll do that math for you up-front.

Sealed product is weighed and inspected for tampering before the offer is finalised. The figure we agree in writing is the figure that lands in your account — no "settling-in" deductions, no "after a closer look" renegotiation, no surprise grading fees.

From box to bank transfer in days, not weeks

How selling your MTG collection works

Four steps. No shop visits, no eBay fees, no auction-house commissions eating your payout. We come to you anywhere in the UK and pay the same day your collection arrives.

Tell us what you have

Use the form at the bottom of this page. A list, a spreadsheet, or photos of your binders or sealed product — whatever you've got. Reserved List or vintage? Photos of card faces help us quote tighter.

We come back with a free valuation

Within 24-48 hours you'll have a written, no-obligation offer. We'll talk you through how each major card was priced and which references we used.

We arrange free insured collection

If you accept, we send a fully-insured courier to your front door at a time that suits you. You don't need to print labels, queue at a post office, or pay for postage.

You get paid the same day

Once your collection lands and is checked, we pay by bank transfer on the same working day. No deductions, no hidden fees, no waiting period.

Why UK MTG sellers pick Fantasy Road

Specialist Magic buyers, paying more by keeping it simple

We don't run a public shopfront — a deliberate decision we made in 2021 — and that means every penny we save on premises goes back into the offers we make for your Magic cards. Stronger payouts than the average local game store, with none of the eBay or auction hassle.

UK-wide collection

Free fully-insured courier collection from anywhere in England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland. We bring the labels.

Real specialist valuations

Every Magic collection is priced by hand against live TCGplayer, Cardmarket and eBay UK sold data. No bots, no template responses.

Top prices on Reserved List

Reserved List, Power Nine, dual lands and original fetches attract our strongest offers — permanent demand, shrinking supply.

Same-day bank transfer

Money in your account the working day your collection arrives and is checked. No deductions, no delays, no excuses.

Sealed product specialists

Booster boxes weight-tested and tamper-checked on arrival. Modern Horizons, Lord of the Rings and Commander Legends sealed in particular demand.

100+ verified Google reviews

Independent 5-star ratings from collectors across the UK, plus a 4.7-star Trustpilot score. Don't just take our word for it.

Honest scope — what we won't quote on

A few things we don't buy

In the spirit of not wasting your time, here's the small list of Magic-related lots we politely pass on. None of these are deal-breakers if they're bundled with a valuable singles or sealed-product purchase — we'll happily take them off your hands as a free add-on — but we don't quote on them as standalone lots because the postage and handling outweighs the per-card value.

  • Bulk basic lands and unsorted commons in volume (with no singles or sealed alongside).
  • Heavily water-damaged, mouldy or fire-damaged collections.
  • Proxies, counterfeits, or unauthorised reprints (we'll flag these honestly if we spot them).
  • MTGO accounts, MTG Arena codes, digital tickets, or Arena cosmetics (paper cards only).
  • Resealed or shrink-wrapped sealed product where the original factory seal has been compromised.

Frequently asked questions

Selling MTG cards in the UK — your questions, answered

The same handful of questions come up over and over again from UK Magic sellers. Here are the honest answers — the same ones we'd give over the phone.

How do I sell my Magic: The Gathering cards in the UK?
Send us photos or a list of your Magic cards via the form at the bottom of this page. We'll come back to you within 24-48 hours with a free, no-obligation valuation. If you accept, we arrange free insured nationwide collection and pay you by bank transfer the same day your cards arrive and are checked.
How do you value Reserved List MTG cards?
Reserved List cards (the Wizards of the Coast list of cards that will never be reprinted, including dual lands, Power Nine, original fetches and many vintage rares) are priced against current TCGplayer Market, Cardmarket Trend and recent eBay UK sold listings, then adjusted for condition. NM/M dual lands, Mox jewels, original Power and Alpha/Beta rares attract our strongest offers because demand is permanent and supply only shrinks.
Do you buy Beta, Alpha and Unlimited Magic cards?
Yes — Alpha, Beta, Unlimited and Revised are exactly the kind of vintage Magic we're built to buy. Even commons and uncommons from these sets carry meaningful value in playable condition, and we'll happily quote on a single Beta rare or an entire vintage collection. Graded BGS, PSA and CGC vintage slabs are very welcome.
Do you buy modern Commander, Standard and Pioneer cards?
Absolutely. Modern Horizons chase mythics, Commander Masters reprints, Universes Beyond cards, fetchlands, shocks, original Zendikar fetches, Standard rotation chase cards and Commander/EDH staples (Mana Crypt, Jeweled Lotus, The One Ring, Sol Ring foils, etc.) are all on our buy list. Bulk rares and uncommons are bought in bulk lots when the volume is there.
Do you buy sealed Magic: The Gathering product?
Yes — sealed booster boxes, collector boosters, set boosters, draft boosters, bundle/gift boxes, Commander precons, Secret Lairs and pre-release kits are all bought regularly. Modern Horizons 2/3, Lord of the Rings, Double Masters, Commander Legends and any sealed product from older sets (Modern Masters, Eternal Masters, original Innistrad) are particularly in demand. Boxes must be factory-sealed and weight-tested.
Do you buy graded MTG cards (BGS, PSA, CGC)?
Yes, we buy graded Magic cards across BGS, PSA and CGC, and we pay competitively on high-grade slabs of vintage rares (Beta/Unlimited dual lands, Revised duals, Arabian Nights, Antiquities and Legends rares). Raw ungraded cards are equally welcome and quoted at the same fair market rates.
Do you buy MTGO (Magic Online) accounts or only paper cards?
We buy paper cards only — no MTGO accounts, MTGA codes, digital tickets or Arena cosmetics. If your collection is a mix of paper and digital, we'll quote on the paper portion and leave the digital side with you.
What MTG cards do you NOT buy?
We don't buy proxies, counterfeits, water-damaged or heavily-played commons in bulk, or basic lands in volume. Bulk commons/uncommons are accepted as a free add-on when bundled with a valuable singles or sealed-product purchase, but we don't buy bulk-only collections as a standalone lot — the postage cost outweighs the per-card value.
How quickly will you pay for my Magic cards?
Payment is by UK bank transfer the same working day your collection arrives and is verified. PayPal is available on request. There are no hidden fees, grading deductions or "settling-in" delays — the figure we agree in writing is the figure that lands in your account.
Do I have to ship my MTG cards to you, or do you collect?
For collections valued above roughly £300 we arrange free fully-insured nationwide collection — we send a courier to your front door with the labels, you don't have to pay or queue at a post office. For smaller collections we cover the cost of an insured Royal Mail Special Delivery label so the cards travel safely and tracked at our expense.
